Do you trust your senses? Do you trust machines sensing the world on your behalf? Join us and discover the amazing secrets of our senses of sight and hearing, and how these senses are being replicated (and enhanced!) in machines that see us and listen to our requests. You will also discover how your brain plays some tricks on you andhow machines can understand what’s in a picture as well as the sound of your voice, including your emotions!
Andrea Cavallaro is Professor of Multimedia Signal Processing and the founding Director of the Centre for Intelligent Sensing at Queen Mary University of London, UK.The lecture will be followed by drinks and mince pies. Attendance is free, but please register in advance
