On 2nd December 2015, the Magic of Computer Science Christmas lecture hosted by the Institue of Engineering and Technology (IET) East London Network, given by Professor Paul Curzon was truly magical! Prof Curzon, wowed the 250 audience of students, parents, teachers and general public with tricks and illusions followed by explanations of the computer science behind them. Several willing young helpers were also enlisted during the talk to help make the event come alive!

Following the lecture, hot drinks and festive mince pies where served along with a splattering of exhibits related to Queen Mary and its outreach activities. IET education also had a stand which engaged many students and teachers that attended.

Great time all round!

Quote of the day from Professor Curzon:

“Never gamble with a magician or a computer scientist!”
