Congratulations to Professor Arumugam Nallanathan, founding head of the Communication Systems Research (CSR) Group and Professor of Wireless Communications in EECS, who has been named on the annual Highly Cited Researchers 2022 list from Clarivate.

Every year Clarivate identifies the world’s most influential researchers, a select group who have demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last year.

The annual list identifies some 6,900 researchers from across the globe who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. The Highly Cited Researchers’ names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index, and the list identifies the research institutions and countries where they are based.

This year, Professor Nallanthan has been recognised as a Highly Cited Researcher thanks to his work in Computer Science. He is one of 115 researchers from this field to be included on the list and one of only 9 researchers listed from the UK.

Professor Nallanathan said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my current and past PhD students, research associates, research collaborators and CSR group members at QMUL. I could not have achieved this prestigious international recognition without their support.”
