Adaptive orchestration of edge computing functions

Supervisor: Dr Felix Cuadrado

Research group(s): Networks

The deployment of pervasive smart infrastructure will create a dense network of monitoring and processing devices in the physical world. The PhD thesis will investigate techniques for an effective cooperative use of these resources, preventing the need to offload data and computation to central datacentres. The thesis will in particular investigate mechanisms for live/adaptive deployment of processing functions that can be executed physically close to where the data is generated.
