Computational Music Expressivity

Music expressivity forms the fundamental conduit for ideas in music communication. While much research has been devoted to automatic quantification of expressive parameters such as loudness, tempo, timing and timbre, little is known about the perception of higher level structures that result from manipulating these parameters. This project aims to use data-driven approaches to understand the structural meanings of expressive variations.
