Geographically-distributed, decentralised large-scale data analytics

The thesis will explore distributed systems mechanisms to take models of large-scale data processing (as in existing Big Data Processing SYstems), and apply them to schemes where analysis requires combining information from multiple data sources, without centralising all the information under a single repository (as it is currently the case with the main Cloud players). This way, analysis can be performed, while avoiding the transfer of massive amounts of data, as well as potentially preserving the privacy of the original data.
