Research group(s): Centre for Digital MusicCardiac arrhythmia results from abberrations in the electrical activity of the heart, leading to irregular or excessively fast or slow heartbeats, with severity of symptoms ranging from inconvenient to deadly. This project aims to extract music and music-inspired structures from arrhythmia data recorded from surface electrocardiograms or intra-cardiac electrograms. The ideal candidate should have some combination of music analysis, mathematical and computational modeling, bioengineering or cardiac electrophysiology knowledge and skills, and be comfortable working with data in Matlab.
