21st Century Networks (Postgraduate)
This module includes an in-depth undestanding of the key issues in next generation, all-packet networking. Topics include: techniques to make use of multiple broadband, quality of service-enabled transport; support for generalized mobility; ubiquitous provision of services to users; core network consolidation; implications of migration of ""legacy services"", e.g. voice from a circuit-switched architecture (PSTN) to VoIP; cable convergence; separation of the transport portion of the network and the services that run on top of that transport.
21st Century Networks (Undergraduate)
This module provides an in-depth understanding of the key issues in next generation, all-IP networks. As the module provides timely material, it will be subject to constant but minor evolution. The topics covered include: converged network infrastructures including wired and wireless access networks, IPv6, network virtualization, network design and engineering, Internet traffic and applications, cloud and content delivery, economics and privacy.
