ECS423U Electronic Engineering Mathematics 2

Module code: ECS423U

Credits: 15
Semester: SEM2

The aim of this module is to consolidate and continue from Electronic Engineering Maths 1 and provide you with a range of mathematical skills for Electronic and Electrical Engineering.

It provides the underpinnings for a number of modules on the Electronic Engineering, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering, programmes such as analogue and digital electronics, signals and systems theory and subjects pertaining to electric and magnetic fields such as optics, microwave engineering, and transmission systems.

Topics covered include:

  • linear algebra - matrices and matrix operations, applications to systems of equations, reduced row echelon form, determinants, Cramer's rule, eigenvalues and eigenvectors.
  • differential equations - solving first and second order differential equations.
