ECS521U Interactive Media Design and Production

This module will provide principles of interactive media production and design using conventional media processing tools.

Topics covered include:

•    to study human aspects and interaction in the creation of artistic and informative media structures using commercial tools;
•    to practice presentation and design using interactive media tools;
•    to learn about different aspects of tools for interactive media;
•    to introduce optimising principles for web images; and
•    to introduce principles of image, video and graphics.

By the end of the module, you will be able to learn the importance of human aspects in multimedia application design and the ways of introducing interactivities:

  • understand the usage of common tools in multimedia design; 
  • understand the ideas of the popular multimedia applications;
  • be able to create their own multimedia applications considering the important aspects in a design process as taught in this module;
  • be able to share responsibilities and collaborate in teams in a design process.
